If you have dry and damaged hair, using coconut oil will make it thicker, shinier and more lustrous.

Coconut oil is widely used in India, and its easy to see why. Indian women are known for their long, healthy tresses.

If you have dry, damaged hair from excessive coloring, perming, or relaxing, then this tip will be especially useful for you. But if your hair is already relatively healthy, then using coconut oil will make it thicker, more shiny, and lustrous.

Here’s how to do it: For this, you need to have clean, dry hair first. Apply the coconut oil onto your scalp and hair. Work it into the hair thoroughly with your fingers.

Wrap your head in a towel and leave it on for 30 minutes to an hour. The heat from your head will help the oil to work itself into your hair. (If you’re feeling industrious, you could use a steamed towel, but its not really necessary.)

Wash your hair using your regular shampoo.

Tip: For even better results, leave the coconut oil in your hair overnight. The oil will thoroughly seep into your hair. (Wear a shower cap to bed and be sure to lay an extra towel or a few old T-shirts over your pillowcase, though!)

Try to do this at least once a week and damaged hair will strengthen over time.

[P.S: Other natural oils can also help dry hair, but coconut oil is best if you want stronger, thicker hair. This is because of the calcium, iron, magnesium, and potassium that’s found in coconut oil.]
