In April 2010, a lovely lady called Valery sent me an e-mail asking me if I knew of any natural ways to heal ovarian cysts. As luck would have it, at the time, I was a year into my own journey of healing my ovarian cysts and fibroids. Talk about synchronicity.
Anyway, I was very happy to share with her the ways I had been successfully treating my own ovarian cysts. But it also got me thinking that it might be worthy of a post so that more people could benefit.
You can read this entire article if you have the time, but you can also read my original e-mail reply to Valery, which is the short version.

Healing my ovarian cysts
I am not a doctor or a nurse. I’m just a regular person who happens to be very interested in my own health. The following is a retelling of my own journey, thoughts and experiences. If you have a serious medical condition, you should consult with a doctor.
For about a year, I had been on a journey to fix some niggling health issues, the most pressing of which was polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). One of the most important lessons I’ve learnt is this—just because something is hereditary DOES NOT mean it’s written in stone.
My mother passed away from complications arising from ovarian cancer when I was five years old. When I hit puberty and started having painful periods each month, I truly believed I would follow in her footsteps. How could I not? All the literature I read about uterine issues (painful periods, fibroids and endometriosis) told me that my condition was hereditary. It was in my DNA.
It’s only now that I realise how very powerful and damaging that belief was. It made me accept my condition and believe there was no way out. So I suffered from tremendous pain for a few days each month my period came. During that time, I would be completely dependent on painkillers just to function. And by function, I mean to walk and to stand upright. To go to school. And eventually to go to work. I thought it would be like that always, until menopause would relieve me.
I was wrong.
It’s been nearly a year now since I started making changes to my life. It wasn’t always easy. But right at around the 3rd or 4th month into it, I noticed something remarkable. My period was becoming less painful than usual. Instead of three painkillers, I only needed two of those powerful little blue pills.
The next month, when my period rolled around again, I couldn’t believe it. The pain, debilitating as it has always been, had dulled from a painful roar to a dull discomfort. I still wasn’t feeling my best, but I could function. And so it progressed. With each cycle, the pain was less. Now I was excited. The progress I was making not only made all my healthy choices easier but also opened my mind to what else was possible.
The first month that I was able to completely go without my little blue pills, I couldn’t believe it. I remember waiting for the pain to come that day. I kept waiting because I didn’t dare let myself believe it. But the pain never came. As I’m writing this now, I still get a little emotional. If you’ve lived with debilitating pain for years (in my case, 15 years), you’d know how incredibly humbling and quieting it is to realise that recovery is possible.
Okay, enough jibber jabber. This is what I did.
1) Getting alkaline: minding my diet and my emotions
The first thing I did was start reading up on alkaline diets.
I must have read hundreds of articles on the importance of maintaining an alkaline blood pH (which is the body’s natural, healthy state). Alkaline-causing foods are mainly of the plant variety. Not being a big fan of salads, I started eating fresh fruit and drinking fresh fruit and vegetable juices every day. Not a difficult thing to do for me because they were always delicious!
I later bought my own juicer so I could have them anytime. By the way, when I say ‘fresh fruit juice’, I mean the kind that’s made from a juicer and whole fruits. Pre-packaged juices are a completely different animal and can actually have the opposite effect. Instead of boosting alkalinity, they are usually acid-causing because of all the added sugar, flavoring, chemicals and preservatives. Check the back of a fruit juice box. Do you see an entire paragraph of ingredients? Not a good sign.
I wanted to attain a healthy, alkaline state for one reason — to give my body the optimal environment it needed to heal itself.
I didn’t just load up on fruits, vegetables and other alkaline-causing food, I also learnt which foods were bad and acid-causing so I could avoid them (see a chart of alkaline and acidic causing foods). Acid-causing food are mainly things like fast food and packaged/processed foods. I also cut down on my dairy and red meat consumption (down to almost nothing) and opted for fish over chicken whenever possible.
I wasn’t perfect all the time. There were days when I succumbed to a sudden craving for a cheeseburger and fries, or a cup of strong coffee. But after I strayed, I just went back on the path.
Speaking of which, when it comes to something as personal as changing our diets, I think it really doesn’t do any good to demand perfection from ourselves. When was the last time you met a perfect person, anyway? Or had a perfect day? To expect something impossible is cruel. If you wouldn’t ask it of your best friend or loved one, why demand it from yourself?
So if you’ve decided to make a change to your diet, I hope you’ll remember to be kind to yourself. The point is to improve from where you started. Not to achieve perfection. With time and patience, you’ll get there, and when you do, you’ll realise that those few weak moments didn’t really matter anyway.
I also paid mind to my emotional life because I learnt that emotions and habitual thought patterns also have a powerful effect on our bodies’ pH. Learning this was amazing in of itself.
For example, fear and stress are acid-producing emotional states. Perhaps because of the hormones adrenaline and cortisol that are released in response to those feelings, but there could be other reasons too.
In contrast, feelings of love, gratitude and happiness are alkaline-producing states, which promotes healing in our bodies. Modern science is only just starting to uncover this. One example is oxytocin (a hormone produced during meditative states, and when we feel happiness or love), which has been proven to accelerate wound healing and new cell growth.
But while science and scientific studies are great, sometimes the best truth is already right in front of us. When I look at my friends and the faces of the people I know, I cannot help but notice that the ones who are joyful and have a radiant, inner calm also have the most youthful faces and are in the best health, while the “frowniest”, the most anxious or fearful, and the ones who complain the most have faces that look aged beyond their years and the most health issues.
Since it didn’t make sense to have the fruits of my labor be erased by my emotions, I worked on easing my daily stresses and changing my thought patterns. I started meditating, practising mindfulness and increasing my self-awareness. Slowly but surely, I started to see life differently. As my view of the world changed, so did my life and my habitual thought patterns. I got angry less often, I relaxed more, I spent more time doing absolutely nothing and loving it.
If this interests you, here’s a primer—just something to get you started.

2) Detoxing
When people hear the word detox, they usually think of going on a detox diet like the Master Cleanse. But detoxing for me was much less glamorous. My main purpose of detoxing was to aid my body in healing. Simply put, by detoxing from as many harmful chemicals as I could, I was getting the road blocks out of the way to let my body do its job.
I actually didn’t need to do much in the way of my diet because an alkaline diet of more raw fruits and vegetables was already detoxing me slowly. Instead, I focused on minimising my exposure to harmful chemicals by switching to all-natural soaps, shampoos and deodorant.
-
-
I avoided drinking out of plastic bottles and switched to aluminium tumblers (because of the chemical leech when water is kept in plastic too long).
-
I stopped using perfume and anti-perspirants, opting instead for baking soda, which worked better than any brand of deodorant I had ever used (almost all commercial perfumes/deodorants are chock full of synthetic chemicals and xenoestrogens. The latter is especially bad for women with ovarian cysts and fibroids as they would already be oestrogen dominant. I wrote a little about oestrogen dominance in this article).
-
I started using an all-natural DIY toothpaste because of the fluoride in commercial toothpastes. In my case, this was sea salt. My teeth have never looked better and my breath stays clean and fresh longer (in contrast, the sugar in commercial toothpastes actually feeds mouth bacteria).
-
I changed from commercial liquid soaps and shampoos (which are full of chemicals) to natural hard soaps and a DIY shampoo.
-
These might seem like a lot because you’re reading them all at once, but I actually made each change one at a time and very slowly. Small changes led to big ones over time.
3) Using ginger and turmeric
I’ve always been a fan of taking herbal remedies such as garlic whenever I feel under the weather, so when I learnt that ginger and turmeric were useful for healing uterine issues, I jumped right on board.
In vitro tests show that ginger kills ovarian cancer cells. Turmeric, which is also a root in the ginger family, has also been shown to have a positive effect on ovarian cancer cells.
Ginger Tea recipe (delicious!): As many fresh ginger slices as I can manage in a cup of hot water with a little bit of brown sugar to taste. Leave to steep for 15-20 minutes in a covered cup and top off with freshly-squeezed lemon juice (from half a lemon). This was delicious and became an almost daily drink for me.
A second method is by juicing. If you have a juicer, you can also extract fresh ginger juice. To save time, I like to make a big batch at once and freeze the ginger juice in ice cube trays. I then store these in a container in the freezer and pop in a few cubes in my drink whenever I want. It tastes really good in chilled lemon juice with a bit of sugar. Be warned though — this makes for a much more spicy drink than the hot tea method above.
Turmeric concoction (much less tasty): To change up the routine a bit, some days I would also take a half teaspoon of turmeric powder in a little hot water with a pinch of sea salt for taste. This didn’t taste good so I only have it occasionally. It wasn’t too unpleasant, just a little bitter and chalky. This is the kind of drink to take quickly, and I downed it like a shot.
Interestingly, once I started drinking turmeric, I noticed that when I started feeling a little under the weather, I would start craving a turmeric drink. As oddly tasting as it was, my body wanted it. And it worked too. I rarely get sick, but I remember being hit by a particularly bad flu that was going around once, and it was because of turmeric that my symptoms were much less severe than what others around me seemed to be experiencing.
4) Apply castor oil packs
I love castor oil. It’s great stuff. Also called the palm of Christ, castor oil has been used for centuries for many ailments. One of its most important properties—especially in the treatment of uterine problems—is that castor oil can penetrate more deeply than any other oil.
This one was simple to do and it felt good. A few days before my period, I would put a castor oil pack on my lower abdomen each night before I went to bed. A castor oil pack is really just a way to put castor oil on a part of your body and wrap it up so that it stays there for longer.
What I did was rub a generous amount of castor oil over my lower abdomen (I wiped the excess on my lower back). Then I would place a castor-oil soaked cotton cloth over my abdomen and wrap it all up using some cling film. This keeps the oil in place on my body and from staining my clothes and bedding. Some people use heat on top of the pack (such as a hot water bottle), but most of the time I didn’t because it was a hassle. But if you’re more enterprising, using external heat would help the castor oil penetrate more deeply and this is always a good thing.
p.s: Why Your DNA Isn’t Your Destiny makes for interesting reading. This TIME article talks about epigenomes, which sits on top of our genomes. These tell our genes to switch on or off — to speak loudly or whisper. It is through epigenomes that environmental factors like diet and stress can make an imprint. Proof of this at work can be clearly seen in the faces of older, identical twins (opens a NYTimes.com slideshow).
5) Iodine and magnesium chloride supplementation
Further along on my journey in November 2010, I also started supplementing with iodine (plus iodide) and magnesium chloride. Deficiencies of both are very common.
In women, sustained iodine deficiency can lead to a host of uterine, thyroid and hormonal issues—including breast and ovarian cysts as well as fibroids. I took iodine supplements in the form of Iodoral and also painted iodine tincture on my skin to supplement.
I went through an uncomfortable detox period during the first month on iodine because I took high doses, but those detox symptoms petered out eventually. Taking high doses of Vitamin C was very helpful for this as it not only minimised my detox symptoms, but also cleared my intestinal receptors so that the iodine can be absorbed more readily. By the way, if your gut isn’t in the best shape, it’s a good idea to fix that first as otherwise the iodine may be poorly absorbed (a waste!).
Magnesium chloride (which I ingest and apply transdermally on my skin) and magnesium citrate have proven to be a great nerve soother and relaxer. More importantly, magnesium is antagonistic to calcium. Thus, it can help dissolve the calcium deposits in ovarian cysts (as well as calcification in other soft tissues, including the joints).
A wonderful side effect for me has been a drastic improvement in the texture of my breast tissue. Not only has the general “lumpiness” disappeared, but a hard, benign lump that I have had for many years softened and shrank drastically thanks to iodine and magnesium chloride. I’m positive it will disappear completely over time. (If your breasts get sore/swollen during or before menstruation, try painting them with iodine tincture. I got almost instant relief when I painted my breasts the first time. And the brown stain disappeared very quickly, a sign that my poor breasts were sucking up the iodine. )
I strongly recommend reading more about iodine and magnesium. Here are a few great articles to get you started.
-
-
Iodine – The universal medicine. “In the case of polycystic ovary syndrome, the starvation of the ovaries causes them to become cystic, swollen…. The greater the iodine deficiency, the greater the number of cysts in the ovaries.”
-
A 2004 Taiwanese study on magnesium and calcium in drinking water and risk of death from ovarian cancer. The results of the present study show that drinking magnesium-rich water on a regular basis may exert a protective effect on the risk of death from ovarian cancer. Future studies of magnesium intake and ovarian cancer should include estimates of magnesium intake from drinking water as well as from diet and supplements.
-
Magnesium — The Neglected Mineral We Cannot Live Without (download pdf). This article will be an eye-opener for most people and for that, I’m labeling it a must-read. You’ve heard about calcium through the powerful milk/dairy lobby and endless milk commercials, but it’s actually magnesium that’s crucial for strong bones. Would it surprise you that two of the strongest animals on earth—elephants and oxen—don’t sit around guzzling milk all day? Of course not. They eat plants, which are chock full of magnesium.
-
So that’s it—these are the things I did over the course of one year that eventually took away my pain and changed my life (it really did!).
Afterword
There’s so much knowledge out there that most doctors won’t even tell us about. The default mode when treating women today is by pushing us drugs and pharmaceuticals (all of which have serious health side effects and are liver-toxic).
Meanwhile, simple treatments that can result in true and complete healing are ignored or ridiculed as “alternative” or “new age”. But if we take a step back and just observe our lives today, it’ll become clear that most drug advertising only seek to “manage” diseases and pains, instead of providing a cure or healing.
And a long list of serious health side effects including death are almost a given with pharmaceuticals. This type of thinking has been prevalent for so long that most people just accept these lousy terms as normal and the “proper” way of doing things. But to people living just a hundred years ago, trading a symptom for serious risks such as heart disease and diabetes would be sheer madness, not progress.
The surgical route is not that much better either, and comes with its own risks and unintended consequences.
For instance, power morcellators are used to chop and mince flesh for their easier extraction during hysterectomies and the removal of uterine fibroids. However, if these tissues contain undetected cancer cells (sarcoma), power morcellators will actually spread this cancer within the abdomen and pelvis. Many women are facing uterine cancer because power morcellators were used during their hysterectomies. The FDA has recently started to scrutinise power morcellators, which is a good thing. But for some women, this may be too little, too late. Shockingly, after accidental morcellation of a cancerous tumour, the average remaining life span is only 24-36 months! 1
Clearly, something is very wrong.
It’s not hard to understand why this has become the way of our world—in the end, it’s all about money. What big pharma wants, big pharma gets. And when big pharma spends millions each year in campaign donations and lobbying our government and health officials, what do you think would happen? And has already happened?
The good news is that we always have the power to learn and to re-educate ourselves. With knowledge, we can make the changes that will put us back on the path of true healing.
P.S: As an aside, I believe that cysts and fibroids aren’t the problem. I think they’re actually our bodies’ ingenious ways of trying to help us stay alive. When our diet and health are suffering, when we assault our bodies with strange chemicals and toxins, our bodies will create “pockets of diseases” such as cysts and fibroids to contain the problem so that we may continue to live. Our bodies love us so much that it can suffer our abuse and do this for years and years. But if we fail to listen to the signs that are there, eventually these “pockets of diseases” will cause us pain, illness and problems. So I say, let’s do our part—let’s start listening to our beautiful, intelligent and loving bodies.
1 Many thanks to Lindsey Caldwell from the American Recall Center for sharing this vital (and potentially life-saving) information.
Valery’s original e-mail followed by my response
Hello, your website was very informative, very clear, simple, no nonsense, genuine information. I have been researching the internet for info lately and am tired of made up/copied/misinformed/unproven methods websites. I was wondering who are these people who have time to set up sites like those.
By any chance, do you have any information regarding ovarian cyst and how to treat it (dissolve it) naturally. So far, I have found info on the internet regarding apple cider vinegar then blackstrap molasses and a few others. I am not completely sure if they are efficient or just promotion on webpages.
I look forward to hearing from you.
best regards,
valery

Hi Valery
Thanks for your email and comments about my website. 🙂
I was actually a little taken aback at first when I read your question, because believe it or not, I’ve been on a journey to heal my own ovarian cysts (and fibroids) as well for the past year.
I started out thinking that my problems will be a part of me forever (my mother passed away from ovarian cancer), but after a year of much learning and experimenting, I’m very much humbled by how much I didn’t know then.
This is what I’ve learned and what has worked (and is continuing to work) for me:
– First thing is to do no more harm. Avoid foods that are known to make ovarian cysts worse, eg coffee. Also avoid those that mimic female hormones, eg soy. Even common chemicals such as those in perfumes and air fresheners are oestrogenic. Our skin absorbs these chemicals readily, so go as natural and chemical-free as you can.
– Read up on a pH balancing diet. The aim is to get your diet/lifestyle alkaline – which is the natural, healthy state of the body. Healing will happen then (and your body will do a much better job of dealing with the cysts if it is in a healthy, alkaline state). This should be a lifetime journey, so do not rush or stress about being perfect. Read as much as you can first and make small changes that are comfortable for you.
– Incorporate ginger and turmeric in your diet. These are in the same family (rhizomes) and both are especially helpful in dealing with uterine problems. Ginger has been shown to kill ovarian cancer cells. Try to drink ginger tea every day. Ginger slices (as many as you can tolerate) steeped in hot water, some honey and lemon is a delicious drink and will slowly shrink your cysts.
– Do hot castor oil packs on your lower abdomen. This will promote healing and reduce inflammation. Castor oil is so good at helping uterine problems that it’s not unusual to feel some light “fluttering” in the left or right ovaries when the pack is on. I hope this helps you and I wish you all the best in your journey.
Best Regards
Sam
My friend has uterine fibroids of 7cm and 2cm with frequent urination and pelvic discomfort. May I know how to dissolve these without surgery.
Hello,
I’m really grateful to have found this, I have very painful ovarian cysts. I worked hard on my diet and eliminating the chemicals I was taking in but unfortunately once I was feeling better I started back up with some of my old habits.. ( I know…. shame on me) After reading this I am feeling much more motivated to take better care of myself. My goal is to dissolve the cysts in hopes of becoming pregnant with my second child. Thank you so much for this post!
Hi angie,
Yes, it’s quite easy to regress, isn’t it? Believe me, I’ve done that also! The good thing is that during the second time around, we already know that what we do will work 🙂 Best of luck!
Hi Sam
I was diagnosed with an enlarged ovarian cyst after having an uterine artery embolisation to reduce fibroid growth. I’m glad to have bumped into your site since the castor oil poultices siginificantly reduce the pain from the ovary. I’m vegetarian but have also stopped soya products hoping that will reduce enlargment of the ovary. What is your recommended menu for daily eating? I’ve also started juicing and try to have at least one a day but find that I don’t seem to have enough energy for vigorous exercise that I enjoyed previously; I’m also really tired by the end of the day.
Hi Caroline, I’m sorry to hear about your health issues. I’ve found that a good way to figure out what food to avoid is just by noticing how you feel after eating it (sluggish, tired, gassy, anxious, etc).
Different diets work for different people, but maybe a good place to start is the blood type diet (here’s a link). It’s been pretty accurate in describing my own metabolism and digestion (my blood type is A), and could be a good starting point for you also.
The Weston A. Price Foundation site is also an excellent resource. There’s a ‘Women’s Health’ link at the bottom of that page which might interest you.
Good luck and take care!
Sam
Hi – I have endometrial bilateral cysts, one 3cm the 7cm. In past year the 7cm didn’t reduce but stayed the same however the other one seem to diminish and they couldn’t pick it up on TV scan. So for past year have tried to be much healthier, but don’t always remain very strict. I can feel inflammed after a strong coffee, so our bodies our very quick to pick up on things they don’t like.
Anyway a date has come round for my lap to excise the endo cyst and clean up any endo. Apparently from MRI it’s in the pouch of Douglas. Not sure what to do, whether to go ahead for the surgery, or leave it. I do get inflammation and burning feeling inside at times, but I manage them. I’m 41, and don’t think the bigger one will ever reduce or go away as smaller ones can? Anyone any advise on what to do? Thanks!
Hi Sarah, I hope you can come to a decision that feels right to you. If you feel surgery can help, go for it. You can still continue making healthy changes after the surgery.
Hi, your website looks great. I am experiencing kinds of problems like cyst at ovary. my belly is getting bigger. however local practitioner said that i’m on my 5th month. i went to the hospital women’s clinic and there i had the ultrasound for baby’s heartbeat not like scan does. i got 134 which is normal for babies. just yesterday i went to having scan and brought my urine to the lab. i laid down but the person did the scan said that there is no baby inside. i got back my result from the lab but also no sign of baby. i was downhearted because it is my first baby for what i assumed at first. i came again to the nurse who examined me for baby’s heartbeat and she got angry as the machine showed sign of baby…..WHAT I AM GOING TO DO!!!! I NEED YOUR ADVICE
Hi atty, that’s terrible, I’m sorry for you. I don’t know what to make of professionals not being able to confirm a pregnancy or not! I guess it’s possible that cysts/fibroids can make it harder for an ultrasound to show a foetus, but shouldn’t the baby’s heartbeat be quite definitive? Did they give you a photo?
One possibility is that you might have both — cysts and a pregnancy. These two things aren’t mutually exclusive.
I would suggest trying another hospital or gynecologist so you can get some peace of mind.
In the meantime, don’t be scared either. What did women do a few hundred years ago when there were no ultrasounds and no way of knowing everything for sure? They were okay and babies still got born.
And if you can’t get a definitive answer, remember that you can still take care of yourself and your diet/lifestyle as if you’re having both (cysts and a growing foetus). That’s really the best thing anyone can do (and also what any good prenatal doctor would advise).
And don’t forget to take care of yourself emotionally and mentally. You might find it helpful to imagine someone you love very much going through the same thing as you are now, and then think about what you would say to them. You would probably only say loving, supportive things with great kindness and compassion. Then say those things to yourself, over and over again.
You’re much stronger than you think and much braver than you know. You’ll be okay.
Love,
Sam
Hi again,
the only thing seen from scan machine is cysts at both ovaries i can remember 3.7cm and the other one is 2.7cm
thanks and waiting for your response
Hi Samantha,
I am grateful for your lovely comments….I am feeling strong and powerful now especially in facing this most challenging unexpected answer again if i have the chance again to do my check up.
thanks again and god bless
atty
You’re very welcome 🙂 And I’m also glad that you’re feeling more hopeful now. *Hugs*
Hi Sam,
Happy new year! Just an update last July my fibroid measured 4.2cm both in left and right ovary and last December i had U/S the good news is, it shrink, it measures now 3.6cm for my left and right ovary. I am so happy to know the progress knowing that the changes i made for diet is effective. Thanks for your blog.. i am continuing my diet- fruits and veges, ginger tea and brown rice. i will try turmeric and castor oil this time. My next ultra sound is June 2013. Praying that my fibroid will totally disappear by then.
Thanks God for all these things and you as His instruments of the healing.
Hi Nelia, Happy New Year to you too!
That’s so great that your fibroids have shrunk 😀 Yeah!!! I’m very, very happy for you. And thanks for stopping by to give us an update.
Hi,
months ago i was daignosed Right Ovarain Cyst, kindly heip me , am severe pains every day…..
That’s great news Nelia, i am trying the diet also will give an update soon. All the best for 2013!!
Had a battle with fibroids where they grew so large, I was in constant, daily pain. Went from a size 8 in jeans to a size 14, just to comfortably zip my pants. At a used book sale, found a small book by a naturopath, country doctor from Vermont. In it, he celebrated the uses of Apple Cider vinegar, which he used for EVERYTHING, from indigestion to acne to sore throats. I decided to try it. I drank a full 8 oz glass of water, with a cap full of the Apple Cider vinegar, in the morning, and again, in the evening before bedtime. In about two weeks, I stopped having the severe pain I was and had been experiencing for more than a year. What was truly bizarre was the day the pain stopped, I felt like something was wrong. I had been in so much pain for so long, it felt wrong when the pain was gone! Being pain-free felt like an oddity. Does that make any sense??? When I went back to my doctor for an examine, even she said, wow, it looks like the fibroids are shrinking. What did you do? So, needlesstosay, I swear by Apple Cider vinegar and ALWAYS keep a bottle in my refrig. …Just wanted to share. -Angela
That’s amazing, thanks so much for sharing 🙂
Hi Angela,
Just wounder whether your method will work for endometrosis cyst of 5 cm on right ovary? Thought of trying with blackstrap molasses but not sure if there is any side effect…?
Thanks in advance
hi everyone,
I am happy to read all the updates from each of you. thanks for sharing…me i’m having a test tomorrow at Marine Training Centre where foreign doctor works at..hope you will enjoy for my update tomorrow
byebye
Thanks for this information. I had ovarian cysts but my mum is a herbalist and she gave me caster oil packs and I followed most of your routine, including the progesterone cream (natural one of course). My ovaries were huge and my periods had stopped but now I have regular periods again and the last scan I had showed that the ovaries are back to normal size.
Good work.
Hi Alison, you’re very welcome and that’s awesome news 😀 I’m so glad to hear it!
Hi Allison can you find out from your mom if the Apple Cider works for cyst caused by endometriosis please. I am so depressed right now i”m not sure what’s the next step.
Can anyone respond, thanks
Hi faith, endometriosis, cysts and fibroids are all the different manifestations of long-term hormonal imbalance. If you can right that imbalance with diet/lifestyle changes, then you’ll be on the path to healing. You can try ACV or any number of suggestions on this page and see if they work for you.
I’d also advise you to take gentle care of your emotional/mental state since you’re feeling depressed. Positive emotions are conducive to healing, while negative ones do the opposite. Take care.
Thanks Allison for the information i will try the ACV wish me luck!!
I mean Samantha, sorry about that
No worries, and you’re very welcome 🙂
hello Sam,,do you have a facebook,so dat i add you?
Sorry Lilac02, I don’t have a facebook account for this site.
ok Sam,,thnk you,,:)
Does anyone know if the Apple Cider Vinegar works also for cyst cause by endometriosis? i am in some severe pain and trying my not to have another laparoscopy.
Hi Ladies … want to share a little of my story with you . I had 29 fibroids and 2 chocolate cyst back in 2009 I had them removed. I also started taking Serrapeptase which is good for eating dead tissue in the body (includng endometriosis tissue, and cyst ) I also starting taking calcium d-glucarate and DIM which is used for removing excess hormorne from the body , additionally I took milk thistle to maintain a clean liver which is very important to clean out excess hormones as well.
With doing all of this I got pregnant wih my daughter in 2010. She is healthy and happy and so are my husband and I. Now moving forward I came off of my suppliments (not taking them as I once was) I got pregnant in January of last year and miscarried. I went to the doctor to see what was going and I had a cyst on my left ovary this was in March 2012. Starting October 2012 my periods stopped. I did testing and they said both my estrogen and progestrone levels were low, the doctor said it was prob. because I was using a natural progestrone cream that may have thrown my body off. I stopped using the cream in late November but still no period .
I did some research and learned that cyst can stop your period. So now I am back on serrapeptase , drinking veggies for breakfast and eating salads for dinner. when I say drinking veggies I mix dark green veggie and spices in the blender which consist of kale, spinach, frozen brussel sprout, frozen peas, frozen artichoke, celery, frozen berries (strawberries, rasberries, blueberries, and blackberries) bannana, raw onion, ginger powder, turmeric powder, cinnamon , a scoop of green vibrance by vibrant health, water (enough to make it more like liquid) and real mayple syrup. I do this every morning now for the last 2 weeks .
I use to juice but now I blend so that I do not lose the fiber in the veggies. Recently , I read up on chokeberry (which is used they say to destroy cancer cells) I have not used this yet but plan to order it all health food stores I have gone to do not carry it. For lunch I eat something regular like tuna .
I also stopped eating gluten all together. So any how these are the things I was doing pre-daughter so I am going back to it but going even deeper by making my diet 80% raw 20% cooked. I hope this info helps. I also take suppliments powder crystal vitamin c (trader joes brand) liquid zinc, vit A, D3, Selenium, E, Omega 3,6,9, pure cod liver oil (NO soy) . I will keep you posted if going back to what I was doing pre-pregnancy brings me back to trying to concieve now. I am 38 yrs old and praying God blesses us with another child as time is ticking. I am asking for your prayers as well as I will be praying for all of you.
Thanks so much for sharing your story, Tyler. I’m sure it’ll help many other women. 🙂
Thank you so much for your post.I am deeply indebted to God for his kindness to me in helping me find your post. I have developed ovarian cysts and fibroids in the uterus and was very worried. But your post gave me hope and has made me feel a lot better. This will help a number of people like me who want to solve this problem through natural , God given means.
May God bless you abundantly for your kindness.
Sherry
Hi Sherry, you’re very welcome 🙂 And thanks for your kind words.
I am so glad I found your blog! I have been having severe lower abdomen pains, especially on my right side. Plus I get this severe pain after sex, feels like I am bloated and lasts for about 2 days. So today I went to see a gynecologist. He did a scan/sonar – inserted something into my v to look at uterus and ovaries and discovered that I have ovarian cysts. He prescribed birth control pills called Yaz – this actually shocked and upset me, to find out that my cure lies in birth control pills. I’m not a big fan of birth control pills because of all the side-effects that I hear of, plus Yaz has some pretty bad reviews online. So I started googling in the hope to find an alternative to Yaz and that’s how I landed here :-). Most sites I come across speak highly of Castor oil in the cure for ovarian cysts, so I’m going to start with that. I will also try to follow your other recommendations and see how things go.
Thanks,
Gina
Good luck, Gina!
just added the castro oil packs 3 days ago and already I am noticing a difference !!!! I also read up on it more and my good the things that castro oil packs are good for is amazing …. it is a must
That’s great 🙂
Hi. I just found your site, and started reading on the natural remedies for the ovarian cysts. My husband and I have been married for two and a half years, and we found out last month that I may have an ovarian cyst on the right side. What helps the nausea, which is one of the symptoms of the cysts is actually ginger. So I’ve been drinking ginger ale off and on, and the times I’ve drank it, the pain from the cyst has stayed down.
Hi Jackie, I’d normally advise people to stay away from soft drinks, but if ginger ale works for you, that’s great. Thanks for sharing!
If you just discovered that you have a cyst on the ovary, you’ve come to the right place because you discover what not to eat, why certain chemicals are bad & what supplements help you to keep ovarian cysts away…
pls i need urgent reply – can apple cider vinegar, aloe vera juice or gel with honey dissolves ovarian cyst or makes it dissapear
hi bukola , apple cider and aloe vera juice are very good for you and i know applecider is good for the liver ,so it would help wash out the excess estrogen which is a cause of growth of fibriods and i believe cyst , i make a tea and put dadidlion, raspberry leaf, and golden rod, in a mug of water over night the drink . Hi i found i had pcos about 10 years ago whilst trying for a baby.
I have since had 3 children, my only concern is that if the eggs are still around my overies can they turn into something more serious as time goes by??
I have allot of cancer in my family so obviously am concerned for disease later?
hi,
i need your advice, i haven’t checked cysts on my left ovary…i just wondering if my pregnancy can be affected by this as my tummy is getting bigger but now my local doctor said that there is no baby inside…please help me on this.
thanks
Hi atty, I wish I could give you the answers you need. If the cyst is small and benign, it’s unlikely to be an issue. There are many women who have given birth with cysts. However, there is a risk with pregnancy if the cyst is large and may rupture. This could lead to premature delivery or even a miscarriage. I would strongly urge you to find a good doctor (maybe return to the women’s health clinic you mentioned?) and have the cyst/s checked.
This may be a bit more helpful — many women shared their experiences here when someone asked a similar question (>100 answers — some good, some not so good. but reading them might give you a better idea of the situation).
hi samantha,
My name is neha and I am from India for the past 3 years i have been struggling from pcos and its horrible symptoms specially swelling on face and excess weight ,dont know what to do and where to go ,took allopathic treatment but that was a bad approach i think ,because natural way is much better. please help me out to kick this problem out of my life.
Thanks
neha
Hi Samantha,
I am diagnosed with dermoid cyst in the right ovary. I am taking homoeopathic treatment. I wanted to know does lemon juice interrupt in the treatment of cyst??
Hi Richa, I don’t know what homeopathic treatment you’re on so that’s probably a question best left for your naturopath.
Though I believe taking lemon juice will probably help rather than harm since it’s good for the liver (and when the liver is working well, the hormonal imbalance that can lead to cysts would more easily resolve itself).
Hi Samantha,
I just want to say thankyou for posting this information. The world needs more selfless people like you!
I have been on the internet the last few days trying to find a natural way to get rid of my ovarian cists without going for another DMPA hormone! had one already and dont want another! I also bought a very expensive book claiming that it was the best thing and had loads of reviews which after reading the book it was clearly a money racket and I am in the process of trying to get my money back! But anyway just to say thanks again for sharing this easy reading helpful information.
Much Love
Sarah
Hi Sarah
Thanks for your kind words and you’re very welcome 🙂 I’m actually really glad that my experience can help other women.
Much love back,
Sam
Dear Samantha;
Good for you on getting healthier and passing on the good news. I pretty much have done the same thing to rid myself of fibroid tumors plus added a few other things like calcium D glucarate and enzymes. I am 52 and feel great and I did not have to have surgery or spend a lot of money on doctors that just don’t have time to teach you how to heal yourself. Keep up the good work and sharing is caring!
Olivia
Hi Olivia, thanks for your comment. it’s wonderful that you’ve managed to heal yourself too! 😀 I like enzymes myself, and I take nattokinase and serrapeptase sometimes. I truly believe that there’s many paths we can towards healing and I’m constantly finding new ways to improve my health.
Sam
Hi Samantha,
I cannot express how much I am glad to have found this information! I am literally trying to write this while wiping tears. I have been battling PCOS for many years. I was able to conceive twice and have two wonderful beautiful children. But now I am having problems. I am currently on a juicing fast. In a week and a half I am going to be going into the master cleanse. Then I am going to see how things are then. I am so bad with PCOS that I only had two periods last year in may and July. Nothing since. I have switched lots of things as far as chemicals in the home. Right now I am interested in making my own shampoo. Thanks for the link. There is so much I want to talk about that I can’t fit it all on here. I am only24 years old. Would there be a chance I could visit you?
Thanks, Brandy
Hi Brandy, thanks for your comment. I’m very happy the article gives you hope for healing. Lol, you’re also the first commenter to ask to visit me (which would be awesome!). I’m living/working in Asia right now, so if you’re ever in this part of the world, feel free to drop me a line 🙂
Sam
I have given up and tried. Then given up again. I was about ready to just forget it. But beings I have a caring husband he sees that I am not happy. And I recently learned about emotions and hormones. So I have been trying to deal with them and release ones that I can. When the doctors say, “there’s nothing more we can do for you. You just have to live with it.” It breaks my heart because deep down I know there’s something. There is a cause. I have been trying to replenish my will to do this. Where there’s a will there’s a way right?
Well enough if that. Is there a way that we could email/talk over phone? I am shocked you even cared enough when you wrote back! It hit me hard. Thank you so much!
Brandy
Hi Brandy – you’re blessed to have a loving and caring partner. Feel free to email me at sam [at] skinverse [dot] com. Sorry to write it that way, I’m trying to thwart the spambots, as always 🙂
p.s: Talking about releasing emotions, one of the things that have helped me the most was listening to Louise Hay’s audiobook ‘You Can Heal Your Life’. I didn’t have the best home life after my mother passed away (my father remarried twice and I had two “wonderful” stepmothers who did a number on me and my sister physically, mentally and emotionally for many years). Despite all my issues, her audiobook has really helped me work through them and I was able to let go of my past negative beliefs about myself. I still play it once in a while even though I’ve listened to it countless times over the years. I truly think she’s one of the wisest and most loving voices out there.
Sam
Hi Samantha,
Would you happent o know if it’s safe to be on master cleanse while taking metformin? Thanks
Hi D Salazar, that’s probably a good question for your GP. But for what it’s worth, I don’t think it’s a good idea to mix the two. The Master Cleanse is a type of fast, and fasts are always hard on the body and stomach. From what I can find, it’s not uncommon for Metformin to cause stomach pain/aches and should be taken with a full stomach.
You may want to consider more nutrient-rich and forgiving cleanses instead like fruit and vegetable juices (with plenty of variety and color) along with hearty soups/broths/stews/etc as you see fit. The latter is important because without healthy fats, we’ll feel bad really quickly.
IMO, there’s no need to go to the extreme end with punishing/restrictive diets such as the Master Cleanse. Especially if you’re diabetic, going gently and carefully would be the safer route.
Hope that helps.
Sam
I got 1 fabroid and ovarian cyst I’m taking Acv and ginger and honey to clease
Awesome info as I share your interest in all things natural. Fibroids for example are a big problem for many women and this information has given me some good ideas to try to get rid of mine. Also, I use turmeric when I make a tofu scramble! Yes it adds flavor and it healthful at the same time.
And I have always been a big fan of cleansing the body as we dump so much garbage in our bodies..sometimes without even knowing it. I will try some of these methods on your site. keep up the great info!
Hi cathy e, thanks for your comment 🙂 And I love adding turmeric to my cooking too. It’s such a poowerful little herb.
Hi Samantha, do you know if ginger and turmeric mixture get rid of a complex ovarian cyst. I have been taking that and change of diet for 4months and today I had an u/s and the cyst is still there. btw it is 7cm do you have any suggestions don’t want another operation, I will be grateful.
Hi faith, I can’t tell you if ginger and turmeric can work on your complex ovarian cyst. All I can tell you is that what I did on this page worked for me (and in so many ways, not just in healing my cysts).
I can also tell you that 4 months seems like a short time to expect significant results.
If our hormones have been out of balance for many years, then it’s likely there’ll be many things in our bodies that need healing as well (hormones affect many of our bodily functions). So while the cyst may be your top-most or only concern (understandably so), to the body, it is just one thing out of possibly many that need healing. And now that your body has your support, you can trust that it’ll know what needs to be healed first.
I’ve noticed that healing comes in stages and there’s a progressiveness and an intelligence to it that I don’t fully understand (but I don’t need to). Because of this progression, the first steps that we take in healing (in your case, changing your diet and taking ginger+turmeric) might be doing much good elsewhere.
You can think of it as like fixing a house that’s been neglected for years. While the wiring may be the thing you want to fix first, a contractor can inspect the house and tell you that there are cracks in the foundation that need to be resolved first, and the wiring will be done, but should only come later.
I guess the point I’m trying to make here is: don’t give up because you might be doing so just as things are about to turn the corner. Time/patience is usually the difference between getting to where we want or not. I hope that makes sense?
I wish you all the best,
Sam
Hi Sam, I understand what you are say and your advice, I will continue my treatment along with some other stuff and pray and hope all goes well and I don’t need to have another laparoscopy.
🙂
I’ll send good thoughts your way. Hugs 🙂
With what you’re saying I really want to take a chance and try it. Since I got my first ovarian cyst and don’t know what caused it it has been bothering me and stressing me out. With that being said I am currently taking meds to clear a bacterial vaginosis as well as the fact that I am having some abnormal bleeding. And I was wondering about what you think U should do first?
Hi Kira, I think a good first step would be finding do-able ways to make your body more alkaline (through diet and lifestyle changes). Also, try not to stress or worry excessively. Best of luck!
I found this information amazing!Thank you so very for sharing your story and natural remedies .The world would be a better place if their were more like you!!!!
😀 You’re very welcome!
I’m so grateful i found the link to this. I have a 41x33mm haemorrhagic complex cyst in my left ovary. and my gynae wants to give me meds, she said she would do laparoscopy if the meds dont work. and I don’t want both of them since the meds are contraceptive pills having bad side effects. Its been 5 days since I found out that I have a cyst. I have started doing yoga, high intake of fruits, etc. I want to go natural on my cyst. I just need to know is my problem too serious? how much time do I have before my haemorrhagic complex cyst turns cancerous? since I know curing it naturally would take time..I just need to know would it be ok to not take meds or surgery for a few months and treat it naturally instead? would it turn more serious if I don’t treat it now with meds?
Hi binny, I’m glad you found this article and I hope it’s given you more confidence on what can be achieved.
But you’ve asked some serious medical questions that I can’t answer. I can only suggest that you ask your gynae about the meds or consult a good naturopath on their possible effects. You can also read up on them on your own as much as you can. As to how much time it takes for a cyst to turn cancerous and if your issue is too serious, I think those are questions for your doctor to answer.
Sorry I couldn’t be of more help.
Sam
I can attest to the fact that castor oil packs and a mostly alkaline diet do work to reduce painful ovarian cysts. It’s been three months, and I have noticeable improvement. These days I don’t even use a pack, I just rub castor oil over my entire abdominal area (upper and lower), and I still get relief.
That’s great 🙂 Thanks for sharing, Iris.
Hi sam,
I just wanted to tell you that you have given me hope. I have been dealing with a pituatory adenoma and a calcified ovary. I also have pcos symptoms. So, this is all good news. I had started a plant based diet and am doing magnesium transdermally every night. I love green smoothies but have not seen any changes yet. I have had this problem for 8 years so all of this g ives me tremendous hope. I also had been reading about alkalizing my body. I am also having digestisve problems. Today, I started the ginger and put it in my smoothie. As for iodine how much is good? I bought sea vegetable flakes and dulse. I was told by a friend to only do it three times a week and no more. She thinks my thyroid is at a good level and dont need it but she said its not bad to eat it to help detox. What do u think? Since you have experienced this. I as well have changed the chemicals in my house. Cant wait to start seeing some changes. I hope with the maagnesium and castor oil my calcification will dissolve. Thank you for you sharing this wonderful information and fighting out disease. I need my life back, I have a 3 year old that needs me. Hope to hear from you soon.
Hi Sandy
Thanks for your comment, I’m very glad to have helped ease your mind a bit 🙂
About iodine, it’s hard to say how much is “enough” as everyone is different.
For me anyway, I started slowly and gradually increased my iodine intake to 100mg a day. I only got detox symptoms from very high dosages, which tells me how seriously iodine-deficient I was at the time. My detox symptoms tapered off after about a month, following which I dropped to a maintenance dose of around 50mg/day. Nowadays, I take just 25mg/day and paint with iodine tincture whenever I feel I need it.
But that’s me — and I’ve been living almost all my life in a city with pollution and tapwater that’s been treated with chlorine and fluoride (which depletes iodine/iodide). Not to mention, I had a really lousy diet growing up and was in some very stressful living situations.
You might very well not need as much iodine as me and can get enough from kelp/sea vegetables. Just continue taking what you have, see how you feel and make adjustments as you see fit.
If you want to test for iodine sufficiency, paint some iodine ticture on your abdomen. It will stain your skin brown temporarily. If the stain disappears in <24 hours, that's a sign of deficiency (when I did this test for the first time, it disappeared within 30 minutes!).
Iodine is an essential mineral so there's little danger of an overdose, and any excess will be excreted naturally. Most people are told by doctors to avoid iodine so they've formed a fear about it, but I believe that is a very unfortunate result of decades of mis-information. The traditional Japanese diet has contained what is considered "high" levels of iodine (~12mg/day) for centuries and have very low ovarian/breast cancer rates compared to the rest of the world, but for some reason, most doctors are simply unaware.
Anyway, don't stress too much about iodine. What you're trying may be good enough. Besides, the other changes you're making will also help greatly, I'm sure 🙂
And you mentioned digestive issues? If you think you need it, probiotics could help. These days, I take a combination of good yeast + good bacteria, which seem to have made a big difference in how I feel. A healthy gut can play a role in hormone regulation, our immune systems and nutrient absorption (which makes it very important, IMO).
Hope that helps.
Sam
Great post, but a couple of observations. First you want to detox from heavy metals and stuff and you’re using aluminum pans? That’s not a great way to do it – stainless steel is much better. I’ve stopped using aluminum since it’s not good for the body.
Second, if you’re using iodine (I assume Lugol’s or Iodoral), you should NEVER take it without the co-supplements – especially selenium (selenomethyonine or selenocysteine) because without that you’re in danger to get Hashi’s (and no, it’s not me who is saying this, it’s Dr. Brownstein, Dr. Flechas, Lynne Farrow, etc, all the good orthoiodosupplementation practitioners that are teaching us the safe ways to add iodine to our live without the heavy herx reactions and without actually damaging our bodies in the process. Vitamin C is great (around 3000 mg a day). Just check the iodine protocol at the Breast Cancer Choices website (just google it, it’s the first to come up). That’s what people should follow if they want to start taking iodine for their health (for ovaries, for thyroid and for thyroid problems, mostly).
Sorry, I meant for ovaries, fibrocystic breast disease (FBD) and thyroid problems.
Sam,
God is really more than good to me for I’ve found & read your website… September 2013 when i was diagnosed dermoid cyst on my left ovary measuring 6.5cm.. In 3 months time i used pills but it bothers me most because I only have 1 day menstruation. If only, I don’t want to continue my pills knowing that it has myriad side effects right? I want to undergo holistic & natural way of healing. Do dermoid cyst shrink/go away on their own too like other kind of cyst Ma’am? Please help. Thank you and God bless!
Hi daez, I’m glad my post has given you some hope. 🙂
I believe dermoid cysts can also be healed like other cysts. If our bodies are powerful enough to create something out of nothing (like a cyst), it also means that it is powerful enough to un-create them in the right conditions. This is one of my favorite mantras — it reminds me of my own strength and makes me love my body so much.
Since you’ve been prescribed pills, I’d suggest you try to learn as much as you can and get the advice of an experienced naturopath so that you’d have additional support. And remember to let your doctor know if you plan to discontinue or lower your dosage at any point. He’d likely want to monitor your progress if you decide to go with the holistic route, and that’s a good thing to do.
It can be a little scary to take ultimate responsibility of our own health, but taking ultimate responsibility doesn’t mean we suddenly need to do everything ourselves or ‘go it alone’. There’s nothing wrong with asking for help (even from doctors) when we need it. In fact, I think the biggest change actually occurs in our minds — we realise that we’ve been in the driver’s seat all along, and that more roads are open to us than we’d thought. And that’s a wonderful feeling 🙂
Good luck!
Sam
HI – So glad I found this site, its been very informative and helpful. I was recently diagnosed with a 7cm chocolate cyst and was rather shocked and upset.. I suppose my symptoms are mild in comparison to others, I went for an MRI after pelvic pain and inflammation and pressure on my bladder ( basically just knew something was wrong) . Im now on a strict diet, mainly veg, wheat free, low fat, and try to stay positive which isnt easy. But with gods help and his guidance through this, I will come through this. I have opted to ‘wait and see’ before having surgery to remove the cyst and accept that I may still just have to have it and then stay on strict diet for life to prevent reccurrence. However would be much happier to cure naturally but will take long time (patience isnt my strong point) but if anything this situation is teaching me to wait and be grateful.
Anyway my question is this – I have read good things about homeopathy ( bellis perennis and arnica) and wondered had you heard or know if this is a good route to try. I read so much and dont want to try this, that and the other? I also then read about nattokinese and serripeptase etc and then dont know which road to go down? Has anyone any thoughts on this? Thank you so much. Sarah
Hi sarah
It sounds like you’ve found a healthy way to deal with finding out abt your cyst, which is great.
I think homeopathy could be a good choice if that route appeals to you. You could work with a homeopath that could guide you.
I think there are actually many ways to heal ourselves and there’s no single right way for everyone. Some people might choose heal themselves through a raw food diet, fasting, cleanses, meditation etc. Remember that belief also plays a big part in healing, so it’s important to choose a method that you believe in yourself.
In my case, I figured out what worked best for me as I tried different things and saw the results.
Good luck!
Sam
Hi Sam,
Great article! Really wonderful! I got lots of great info – thanks so much! I’ve been reading comments on this post and I’d like to share a little of my own journey in the hope that others may read it and find it helpful.
Last September, I was diagnosed with a really large ovarian cyst – 21cm X 15cm X 10cm. All the doctors had one suggestion – surgery. But I am passionate about natural and self healing, so I tried a few things first. I changed my diet to be more alkaline, cutting out meat, dairy, eggs, junk and processed foods and decreasing caffeine. I also started doing meditations in which I visualised my cyst being gone. I took a sabbatical from my job, which I hated and which caused my a lot of stress. Anyway, two months later, my cyst had shrunk to 12cm X 10cm X 7cm and the volume had reduced to 1/3 of what it was! So I postponed the surgery.
I have continued to do my healing, although I do lose my focus sometimes. The cyst has shrunk a little more and I am impatient for it to heal completely.
Anyway, that is my story so far. For anyone who is interested, here are a few books on healing and emotions that I found incredibly useful.
– 9 Steps to healing yourself of cancer and other diseases by Shivani Goodman
– The Tapping Solution by Nick Ortner
Thanks again Sam!
Hi Fin,
You’re very welcome and thanks so much for sharing your experience. It’s wonderful to hear that your cyst is shrinking 🙂 I’m a big believer in visualizations too, though I could be better at them!
And if you haven’t seen it yet, I can recommend a documentary called The Living Matrix. It’s great stuff.
Hi Sam
I haven’t been on these boards for a while, was wondering how your progress was on reducing your cysts. I have bilateral chocolate cysts and endo and have now got my name down for surgery which I’m not sure I want to go through with. I’m reading a lot about healing naturally albeit much slower but maybe much better overall. Just after 3 ,oaths had another trans v scan and cysts haven’t grown but haven’t reduced either which was disappointing. Just unsure as to what to do?
Hi Sarah, 3 months isn’t very long if you consider that it probably took our bodies years to create the growths, extra tissue etc. About your surgery, I can only suggest doing what you feel is best for you.
And to answer your question, I haven’t had any more cysts for a long time now. Also gone are the pain and pregnant-looking belly when I get my periods.
Hi,
I am so happy I read this.. 2 years ago my doctor found me 2 fibroms which scared me to death as I didn’t know what they were and I didn’t have anyone to share it with. Anyway 6 months later they found me a third one.. so even if doctors try to call me down I was quite sad and worried as they were saying not to do anything at all, cos they were to big to treat them with medicines but not so important to have a surgery.. Anyway I calm down and continue with my life… but 4 months ago after a long flight, while I was sleeping I felt pain in one of my my breasts, I woke up and check and i had a huge ball inside of it.. it was so painful that i couldn’t wear any bra… Unluckily for me, it was Christmas season so I had to wait till doctors came back from holidays to work again.. I went to the visit, and he took me out the liquid of my cyst to send it to analysis and then he start calming me down by telling me to wait for the results and that it’s normal for women to develop cyst in their lifes… Anyway, waiting for my analysis was the worst thing ever cos the word “Cancer” started flowing in my head and I didn’t want to make the call for the results so.. At the end I called and doctor told me everything was ok and to keep on going with the prescription he gave to me… few weeks later I found me another cyst, same position but other breast.. I went back to the doctor and there was nothing to worry about again… But is hard not to worry, not to feel sad and unguided about what you can do with your body to help him heal.. It’s been almost 6 months and today, after a medication that made me loose appetite, weight and other awful side effects, I found myself in the same condition… The last cyst is still there and the first one apparently regrew, the fibroms I imagine will still be there but I will figure it out this Friday when I’ll go back to the doctor’s again.. sometimes I still feel a kind of pain on my breasts and I worry cos I maybe they are growing.
After all this the only thing I see as an option to help me heal is to change what I am eating so I’m trying to eliminate red meat from my diet, and to eat more fresh vegetables instead, I read about following a diet according to our blood type (not to loose weight but to heal), which I’m gonna follow after I finish a Detox that I decide to do during 3 days and I will follow what you say here My question will be if you believe it will work for breast cyst as well (castr oil, ecc) or do you have other suggestions to follow?…
Again I was excited to read your article as I believe we should share our experience with other people, and give them back the hope we normally forget we have in our souls that is hidden behind the fear to the unknown Thanks
Hi Maria,
I’m very sorry to hear about your troubles, it must’ve been quite disheartening to keep hearing bad news. But I’m glad you’re taking steps to heal yourself. Anyway, sometimes what can seem like bad news can be a blessing in disguise — at least now you can prevent anything more serious in future, right?
You can try using castor oil over your breasts if you’d like. I’ve not tried castor oil for that area, but it’s good for a lot of things (including increasing circulation).
I also recommend painting your breasts and other parts of your body (except face and neck) with iodine tincture regularly. Another good thing to do is to start taking an iodine supplement (e.g. Iodoral). Given your cystic breast tissue, I suspect your body is very deficient in iodine and might have been for a long time.
I had very lumpy breasts before, but now the tissue feels smooth and normal. The breast pain and soreness that I would always get before/during my periods also went away after I started taking iodine and painting my breasts regularly.
All the best,
Sam
Please, what do I do to heal ovarian cyst and fibroid naturally.
I’m in nigeria.I will appreciate kind responses.
Thanks.
Angel

I don’t know how to solve the problem naturally, and I am eagerly waiting for kid… Please help me to solve my problem soon, thanks to you and believing in you, Hoping in god to make me a happy mother…
Hi,
Thanks for posting your story. I have just been diagnosed with 3 ovarian cysts – 11cm, 5cm and 6cm. I have started using your approach, mostly. I have an appointment in a month to monitor any change.
I would like to pin this page on pinterest. Not sure this action is available?
Thanks.
Hi Lish, you’re very welcome and good luck on your journey 🙂
Remember that healing takes time, so please do not let yourself be discouraged in case you don’t hear good results within a month.
And apologies, I don’t know how to pin a page.
Hi
Was told i have one bif cyst a 10 by 12 cm one. will this natural way help to get rid of them.
Hi,
I am 24 years old unmarried gal diagnosed with 5.9X4.5 cm ovary cysts. I was put on ovral g and gynaset for three months to dissolve the cysts but no result. Now I am very afraid as Dr. prescribed me CA 125 for ovary cancer. But the test was -ve with no cancer but there is no reduction in ovary cyst size. Kindly suggest me would ginger tea and turmeric would help me to get rid of that problem. I am also suffering from frequent urination atleast 15-20 times a day. Kindly suggest me.
Hi Bharti,
I can understand how frightening it must have been. Nonetheless, no sign of cancer is great news and I’m very glad for you.
Yes, you can use ginger and turmeric to help reduce the cysts, along with a change in diet and avoiding oestrogenic foods.
p.s: If you’re so inclined, I can also suggest reading up on Essiac tea (also called ‘Ojibwa tea’ and ‘4-herb tea’) and see if that’s something you want to try. Essiac tea is an old remedy that can help protect against cancer. It also has many other benefits, including healing cysts and fibroids. You can brew the tea yourself and drink it or take it in capsule form.
Take care,
Sam
Hello,
May I ask how much iodine you took, how you took it and how you handled the detox symptoms?
Thank you,
Christine
Hi Christine,
I took iodine in the form of tablets (Iodoral). When I was on my high-dose regimen, I started with one pill (12.5mg) and gradually increased it. Most of the time I tried to take 50-75mg day, but for a very short period I increased it to 100mg a day. Once I felt that my levels were normal and I had no more detox symptoms, I reduced it to a maintenance dose of 25-50mg/day. I only took high doses of iodine for about six months to detox from a lifetime of bromide and fluoride. Though it’s actually not that long because the six months included all the breaks that I took (each lasting 1-3 weeks, or as long as I needed). Nowadays, I just take 25mg a day (2 tablets).
My detox symptoms were mostly feeling tired, achy, having a low-grade fever, and lower back pain. Everytime I felt bad, I’d stop taking iodoral immediately. When I felt better again, I’d restart on a lower dose and work my way up again. Taking lots of Vitamin C helped with the detox symptoms. There are other companion nutrients that people recommend, but I mostly stuck to Vitamin C and magnesium chloride. I wasn’t too worried as my diet was good and getting better all the time.
If you want to go down this route, I’d suggest reading up on it as much as you can to prepare yourself (Google “orthoiodosupplementation”). Curezone is a good place to start and has lots of people who have tried high doses of iodine though i think most use Lugol’s.
p.s: Remember to do the iodine patch test first. I grew up eating very poorly (lots of fast food and sugar) so I had a lot to detox from. But you might not need such a strong regimen.
Good luck!
Sam

Hi honey, I’m glad to hear that your pain is lessening 🙂
Yes, iodoral is hard to come by in stores. I have to buy mine online.
For painting on your skin/breasts, instead of Lugol’s iodine, you can also use iodine tincture, which is much more commonly available at pharmacies/pharmacy aisles since it’s a good antiseptic.
If not, you could try looking for Lugol’s iodine at pet fish stores. It’s used as an additive by some pet fish owners to keep their fish healthy. But 1 small bottle can be quite pricey and you’d also need to dilute it so it won’t burn your skin.
I’d recommend iodine tincture instead of searching for lugol’s — iodine tincture is much cheaper, more easily available and won’t need dilution. Just be sure to vary your painting over different areas instead of one place every day (doing that can lead to burning/itching as the alcohol in the tincture is quite drying and can cause your skin to peel slightly).
Good luck 🙂
