Egg white masks work great for oily skin and do a good job of toning open pores.
Egg whites work great as a mask for oily skin, and do an extremely good job of tightening skin and toning open pores.
How to do it: Break a fresh egg onto a clean plate or bowl.
Dip clean fingers in to get the white part and dab this onto your face.
Leave to dry for 15-20 minutes and then wash off with warm water. (Whip up the remainder for some yummy scrambled eggs!)
i have quite oily skin and it usually begins to get oily in the morning and then worse thorughout the day i need something that will get rid of my oil for along period of time
Hi Dwight, I have oily skin too and I haven’t been able to find something that will get rid of the oiliness for an extended period of time. There’s always more! So what I do is just pat my skin with tissue to soak up the excess oil whenever I feel uncomfortable.
The Made from Earth Rosehip & Hibiscus Face Serum is perfect for my skin. My chin, forehead and especially my nose tend to be oily, but the rest of my face can be really dry. Anything I use to prevent or reduce acne generally dries out my face. I haven’t been able to find this moisturizer at my regular stores lately, so I used another brand’s moisturizer (Dove, I believe), and my face started breaking out by the next day. I’ve read other reviews where people said this moisturizer makes their skin softer than it’s ever been. I guess it just really depends on your skin type. They should sell cheaper samples, so people can try out these kind of products. Oh well. I’m just glad to find it on their website – if your looking for it its: http://www.madefromearth.com.
Thank you Maria Mills. I have a mixed skin (oily at the forehead, nose, and chin; normal at the rest), but it gets really dry in the winter. I have tried many moisturizers. None worked, until my dermatologist recommended Neostrata. You can’t find it at the stores, but you can order it online at http://www.neostrata.com. It’s simply great.

IS IT GOOD FOR OILY Skin?????
he Made from Earth Green Tea Cleanser not only leaves my face feeling clean (but not dry) it has totally eliminated the mild to moderate breakouts I’d been suffering from for the past year.
I tried the Made from Earth cleanser after reading online reviews, and after only 3 months, have seen major improvement (read: not one zit for over 4 wks) Admittedly it is not an overnight miracle, but it did work eventually.
I use this product 2x per day (a.m and p.m), and for my night ritual I use a disposal exfoliating sponge to help remove my makeup, followed by the Rosehip & Hibiscus face Serum (also by Made from Earth).
Wow, I didn’t know about this method. I need to try it at home

OILY SKIN friends … I am a 51 yr old female whose dealt with the sorrows of oily skin most of my life. I can tell you I found a solution and you won’t believe me unless you try it yourself. I had heard that if you use oil on oily skin it will balance it. I didn’t believe them so I kept trying all these different astringent products, but one day I decided – what the heck – nothing is working. I was sick of blotting my face all day and re-applying make up that I had wiped off, powders, papers, etc. I started using Jojoba oil at night to wash my face and discovered after a few days that I woke up with LESS OILY skin. I used this for several months and was surprised that my skin did balance out. Sure it may have had to do with my age, but I recommend you give it a try. I moved on from it because I discovered over time it clogged my pores and the maintenance was to high for me, but like I said, it gave me less oily skin. I now use a baby wash product so that my skin doesn’t get dry splotchy patches. Burts Bees baby wash in case you want to know.
Good luck all! xo K
Hi Katherine, thanks a lot for sharing. What you say makes sense. I’ve been using castor oil all over my face in the evenings lately and I do notice that my face is less shiny during the day. I just never put two-and-two together until I saw your comment. I’ve had naturally oily skin ever since I hit puberty, but I don’t really mind so much because I read that people with oily skin age slower. 🙂
Hello, 1m 14 years old. I have oily skin, spots&alot of blackheads on my nose. But in school all the girls wear make-up so i wear foundation, concealer, mascara etc.. But whatever i do my skin never gets rid of spots, blaclheads and is always shiny, any help anyone?
Hey there, I have combination skin (T zone) as well.. The moisturizer I use is from Shielo.. It’s called Shielo Complexion AntiAging Moisturizer .. I don’t know if you’ll find the similar one where you stay.. But this moisturizer from Shielo is for oily or combination skin .. I really like this brand.. It doesn’t cause me any break outs.. Hope this helps!!
Hello. I’m 16 and I’ve got really oily skin, spots and blackheads. Recently I’ve been using an egg white mask made with tissue, after steaming my face with hot water. I separate the egg white from the yolk and whisk it until the egg is frothy, then apply it to my face with a make-up brush that I’ve never used before. I spread the egg on my face with my brush, then apply single sheets of tissue paper, and put egg white on top of that again. I’ve been leaving it for 15 minutes, but I’m going to leave it for 30 minutes now for even better results. This method definitely works for getting rid of blackheads, and clearing the skin.
I wash my face with Boots TeaTree Cleansing Foaming wash- mornings and evenings-, and moisturise with Clean & Clear’s Morning Energy. Whilst I would recommend Boots Foaming wash, (available in the U.K- not sure about U.S) I wouldn’t recommend my moisturiser because my face feels greasy and I don’t want grease on top of my natural oil.
I’m still working on something for my shiny skin, which is a massive pain, but the egg white face mask definitely works for blackheads and pore unblocking which is great for helping to clear the skin.
I do wear make-up and when my skin is shiny, ( I know this is bad ) I apply Rimmel’s matte powder with a brush to get rid of it. I don’t neccesarily like doing this, but it makes my skin look flawless when I have a minimum amount of spots.
Until I find a solution for my oily complexion, I’ll continue with this and the egg white face mask which is brilliant. I use the egg white mask every two days in the evenings and I seriously recommend it.
Hope this helps!
